Ripley at the end of Talented movie kills Peter. They are in a ship in a cabin registered to both. How Ripley justifies Peter's demise? Simulating suicide? This will draw attention to him and Meredith who knows him as Dickie learns that he calls himself Tom Ripley. Or he plunges Peter's body overboard by night? Assuming he's not seen, how can he not denounce Peter' disappeaeance to the Captain? Again, that will draw attention to him. And someone in Greece will be waiting for Peter. Not only that, but Meredith could write Margie saying he met Dickie on the ship, or worse that the person she knows as DIckie is called Tom Ripley! Marge and Dickie's father think him dead and Marge at the end of the movie Talented is convinced of Tom's guilt. Soon an investigation would be made, photos of Ripley divulgated and compared with photos of Dickie. Those will be shown to the Italian lady who rented "Dickie"the Roman apartment and maybe to the concierge of a certain San Remo hotel. Then an extensive thorough research of the sea near San Remo will reveal Dickie's body. And Tom would be in big trouble.. In the novel there's no Meredith and Peter has only a very minor part and he is NOT killed And in the novel Marge does not even suspect Tom, as she does in Talented movie. In Plein Soleil Tom got found out and so will happen implicitly in Talented movie. A strange coincidence: the actor playing Freddy in Plein Soleil vaguely resembles the actor playing Freddy in Talented
